I believe there is one point citizens all
across District 4 will agree with me on: much of the county's
infrastructure could stand to be improved.
So let me be very clear ... if you want better
roads, you have a friend in Dr. Elba Garcia. A recent governmental
report identified the roads and bridges in Dallas County as the
worst in the country except for those in Los Angeles County.
That's unacceptable.
As your county commissioner, I will make road
improvements ALL ACROSS the district one of my top concerns. I
will marshal the state and federal funds available to bring you
better streets.
And I will work with the leaders of the many
municipalities throughout the district to make certain the funds
get applied to road and bridge improvements quickly and effectively.
Our county jail has also received media attention
for its deplorable conditions and its inability to pass inspections.
That situation has eased in recent months, and I will strongly
support our continuing to invest in improving conditions there,
so the jail meets at least the minimum standards mandated by the
state.
